Merz B. Schwanen Henley

The three-season Merz b. Schwanen henley never goes out of style. It looks good alone, or layered under a jacket or sweater. (Nothing beats the versatility of a shirt you can wear to bed and to work.) The comfortable, pared down design originated at Henley-on-Thames in 1839, when professional rowers wanted a sporty garment that could move with them during a race. Hence, the henley was born.

This soft and durable cotton version features a fluid, seamless design, which is made using a loopwheel process to create one single shirt body without the need for side seams. It's woven on circular knitting machines dating back to the 1920s and based on a pattern from the 1930s. A unique panel on the underside of the arm creates a pocket for ventilation, as well as providing extra comfort and ease of movement. For a subtle element of luxe, the shirt is finished with mother of pearl buttons.
